Com a sua bela barba cinzenta não havia nome mais adequado do que Gandalf para este velho burro sábio. Após chegar até nós da ilha de La Palma tem uma longa história para contar. Chegou até nós principalmente pelo nosso clima seco e ventoso, que é excelente para os burros que muitas vezes sofrem muito com mosquitos nas partes "mais verdes e húmidas" das ilhas. Quando Gandalf chegou as pernas estavam abertas e feridas, em muito sofrimento. Mas em dias eles começaram a curar-se e a deixar o forte carácter travesso brilhar. Gandalf é realmente o melhor nome pois este burro é verdadeiramente um mágico, consegue escapar de qualquer coisa!

With his beautiful grey beard there was no more suited name than Gandalf for this wise old donkey. After coming to us from the island of La Palma he has a long story to tell. He came to us mainly for our dry and windy climate which is great for the donkeys which often suffer a lot from flies in the “greener wetter” parts of the islands. When Gandalf arrived his legs were open and wounded, in lots of pain. But within days they started to heal and allow his strong cheeky character to shine through. Gandalf is really the best name as this donkey really is a wizard, he can escape from anything!
