Imperia, uma linda fêmea Mastim, foi encontrada sem microchip e levada ao abrigo pela Sanidad. Como eles conseguiram pegá-la naquela época, permanece um mistério, porque ela chegou até nós extremamente assustada. Normalmente, os cães levam apenas um curto período no abrigo para se sentirem seguros e começarem a sair do casulo, alguns levam apenas alguns dias, outros até algumas semanas. Demorou meses para Imperia começar a sentir-se mais confiante, ficar mais ereta e conseguir relaxar um pouco perto das pessoas. As condições e o ambiente do abrigo são extremamente difíceis para ela e seu desenvolvimento foi muito atrasado devido à falta de tempo ou espaço seguro no abrigo para cães sensíveis como Imperia. Ela se sente muito bem perto de seus amigos caninos - principalmente machos tranquilos Podencos, com quem gosta de brincar, correr e abraçar. Ela depende de outros cães para se orientar e definitivamente precisa de outros cães também em seu futuro lar. Imperia prefere muito mais machos do que fêmeas e se adapta rapidamente a diferentes machos de tamanho médio-pequeno, que a convidam para brincar de forma suave, permitindo que ela defina o ritmo de conhecimento mútuo. Imperia também gosta de conhecer cães machos maiores e os convida a brincar através da cerca, mas fica assustada quando eles se aproximam diretamente dela com muita energia. Ela se conecta mais com pessoas muito pacientes e gentis, que não tentam tocar nela e lhe dão o espaço e o tempo que ela precisa. Ao mesmo tempo, Imperia precisa de um humano confiante, que não reforce sua insegurança falando com ela muito suavemente - quando ela recebe orientações claras e confiantes de um humano, por exemplo durante uma caminhada, ela relaxa visivelmente e segue o humano e o grupo. Imperia procura um lar perto da natureza, em uma área tranquila. Mais do que qualquer outra coisa, será importante para ela ter rotinas diárias simples e claras, que se repetem constantemente - ela cresce mais confiante em ambientes e horários conhecidos. Ela provavelmente sempre permanecerá uma menina tímida, que tem medo de estranhos e novas situações, mas acreditamos que em seu ambiente seguro, com seu grupo canino e humano, ela começará a sair do casulo muito mais rapidamente. Ela busca um lar experiente que tenha tido experiência prática com cães assustados e tímidos antes, um lar sem crianças pequenas, crianças mais velhas educadas com cães não seriam um problema. Imperia, a beautiful Mastin girl, was found without a chip and brought to the shelter by Sanidad. How they even managed to catch her at that time, remains a mystery, because she arrived to us so incredibly scared. Mostly, it takes dogs quite a short time in the shelter, to feel safe and to start to come out of their shells, some take just a few days, some up to a few weeks. It has taken Imperia months to start feeling more confident, stand up more straight, to be able to relax even a little bit next to humans. The conditions and environment of the shelter are extremely hard of her and her development has greatly been slowed down by the lack of time or safe space in the shelter for sensitive dogs like Imperia. She feels very good around her doggie friends - mostly male easy-going Podencos, who she likes to play, run and cuddle with. She relies on other dogs for orientation and she definitely needs other dogs also in her future home. Imperia likes males much more than females, and settles quite quickly with different smaller-medium size males, who invite her to play in a soft way, so she can lead the speed of getting to know each other. Imperia actually also likes to meet bigger male dogs, and invites them to play through the fence, but then gets scared when they approach her directly, with too much energy. She connects more with very patient and kinds people, who do not try to touch her and give her the space and time she needs. At the same time, Imperia does need a confident human, who will not enforce her insecurity by speaking to her very softly - when she receives clear, confident guidelines from a human, for example on a walk, then she relaxes visibly, and follows the human and the pack. Imperia is looking for a home near the nature, in a quiet area. More than anything, it will be important for her to have simple, clear daily routines, which are repeating constantly - she grows more confident in known surroundings and daily schedules. She will probably always remain a shy girl, who will be scared of strangers and new situations, but we believe that in her safe environment, with her dog and human pack, she will start to come out of her shell much quicker. She is looking for an experienced home who has had hands-on experience with scared & shy dogs before, a home without small children, older dog-educated children would not be a problem. Her shoulder height is 68cm.
