Imperia, una bellissima femmina di Mastin, è stata trovata senza microchippatura e portata al rifugio da Sanidad. Come abbiano fatto a prenderla in quel momento resta un mistero, perché è arrivata da noi estremamente spaventata. Di solito i cani impiegano un periodo abbastanza breve nel rifugio per sentirsi sicuri e iniziare a uscire dal guscio, alcuni impiegano pochi giorni, altri fino a diverse settimane. Sono passati mesi prima che Imperia iniziasse a sentirsi più sicura, a stare dritta con più fiducia e a rilassarsi un po' accanto agli umani. Le condizioni e l'ambiente del rifugio sono molto difficili per lei e il suo sviluppo è stato notevolmente rallentato dalla mancanza di tempo o di spazio sicuro nel rifugio per cani sensibili come Imperia. Si sente molto bene con le sue amiche cani - soprattutto maschi Podencos tranquilli, con cui le piace giocare, correre e coccolarsi. Si affida agli altri cani per orientarsi e ha certamente bisogno anche di altri cani nella sua casa futura. Imperia preferisce molto i maschi rispetto alle femmine e si adatta rapidamente a diversi maschi di taglia piccola-media, che la invitano a giocare in modo delicato, così che lei possa guidare la velocità con cui si conoscono. Imperia piace anche incontrare cani maschi più grandi e li invita a giocare attraverso la recinzione, ma poi ha paura quando si avvicinano direttamente a lei con troppa energia. Si lega di più con persone molto pazienti e dolci, che non cercano di toccarla e le danno lo spazio e il tempo necessari. Allo stesso tempo, Imperia ha bisogno di un umano sicuro, che non rafforzi la sua insicurezza parlandole molto dolcemente - quando riceve istruzioni chiare e sicure da un umano, ad esempio durante una passeggiata, allora si rilassa visibilmente e segue l'umano e il branco. Imperia cerca una casa vicino alla natura, in un'area tranquilla. Più di tutto sarà importante per lei avere routine quotidiane semplici e chiare, che si ripetono costantemente - cresce di più sicura negli ambienti e nelle routine note. Probabilmente rimarrà sempre una ragazza timida, spaventata dagli sconosciuti e dalle nuove situazioni, ma crediamo che nel suo ambiente sicuro, con il suo branco canino e umano, inizierà a uscire dal guscio molto più velocemente. Cerca una casa esperta che abbia avuto esperienza pratica con cani spaventati e timidi in precedenza, una casa senza bambini piccoli, bambini più grandi educati al cane non sarebbero un problema. La sua altezza alle spalle è 68 cm.

Imperia, a beautiful Mastin girl, was found without a chip and brought to the shelter by Sanidad. How they even managed to catch her at that time, remains a mystery, because she arrived to us so incredibly scared. Mostly, it takes dogs quite a short time in the shelter, to feel safe and to start to come out of their shells, some take just a few days, some up to a few weeks. It has taken Imperia months to start feeling more confident, stand up more straight, to be able to relax even a little bit next to humans. The conditions and environment of the shelter are extremely hard of her and her development has greatly been slowed down by the lack of time or safe space in the shelter for sensitive dogs like Imperia. She feels very good around her doggie friends - mostly male easy-going Podencos, who she likes to play, run and cuddle with. She relies on other dogs for orientation and she definitely needs other dogs also in her future home. Imperia likes males much more than females, and settles quite quickly with different smaller-medium size males, who invite her to play in a soft way, so she can lead the speed of getting to know each other. Imperia actually also likes to meet bigger male dogs, and invites them to play through the fence, but then gets scared when they approach her directly, with too much energy. She connects more with very patient and kinds people, who do not try to touch her and give her the space and time she needs. At the same time, Imperia does need a confident human, who will not enforce her insecurity by speaking to her very softly - when she receives clear, confident guidelines from a human, for example on a walk, then she relaxes visibly, and follows the human and the pack. Imperia is looking for a home near the nature, in a quiet area. More than anything, it will be important for her to have simple, clear daily routines, which are repeating constantly - she grows more confident in known surroundings and daily schedules. She will probably always remain a shy girl, who will be scared of strangers and new situations, but we believe that in her safe environment, with her dog and human pack, she will start to come out of her shell much quicker. She is looking for an experienced home who has had hands-on experience with scared & shy dogs before, a home without small children, older dog-educated children would not be a problem. Her shoulder height is 68cm.
