We had announced the opening at 10 o'clock, and at that time there were already eager guests outside. At 10 o'clock, the chairman of the board, Mogens Wilbert, stepped forward together with the first deputy mayor, Lotte Birkestrøm, who had the honor of cutting the ribbon, thus officially opening the animal shelter. Many guests came in and saw the very nice conditions for the cats. There were not many cats yet - but there have been a lot of capture cases in Ringsted over the past year and at the same time we are facing the kitten season, so we expect the animal shelter to soon be filled with sweet cats available for adoption. There was ample opportunity to talk to both the staff at the animal shelter and the cat inspectors, who capture the stray and homeless cats. In addition, there was a cozy creative corner, where especially the young audience could make toys for the cats and a constantly visited jumping castle. Lotte Birkestrøm gave a speech, where she highlighted the good cooperation with Ringsted municipality and in general was happy that Kattens Værn has now come to the city. Guests were served with cake and coffee and enjoyed the very nice spring weather. Thank you very much to all attendees - we look forward to many good cat experiences in the future in Ringsted.

Vi havde annonceret åbningen til klokken 10, og på det tidspunkt stod der allerede forventningsfulde gæster udenfor. Klokken 10 trådte bestyrelsesformand Mogens Wilbert frem sammen med 1. viceborgmester Lotte Birkestrøm, der fik æren af at klippe båndet over, så internatet officielt blev åbnet. De mange gæster strømmede ind og fik set de meget fine forhold for kattene. Endnu var der ikke så mange katte – men der har været en del indfangningssager i Ringsted over det seneste år og samtidig står vi overfor killingesæsonen, så vi forventer, at internatet snart vil blive fyldt af søde katte til adoption. Der var rig mulighed for at tale med både personalet på internatet og katteinspektørerne, der indfanger de vildtlevende og herreløse katte. Derudover var der et hyggeligt kreativt hjørne, hvor især det unge publikum kunne lave legetøj til kattene og en flittigt besøgt hoppeborg. Lotte Birkestrøm holdt en tale, hvor hun fremhævede det gode samarbejde med Ringsted kommune og i øvrigt glædede sig over, at Kattens Værn nu var kommet til byen. Gæsterne blev beværtet med både kage og kaffe og kunne nyde det meget fine forårsvejr. Tusind tak til alle fremmødte – vi glæder os til mange gode katteoplevelser i fremtiden i Ringsted.
