Daphne este una dintre cele mai vechi câini fantomă care au ajuns la adăpost împreună cu cei 4 frați ai ei acum 6 ani. Până recent am crezut că nu există nicio șansă ca această familie tristă să găsească vreodată o casă. Așa că anul trecut am construit un pen special pentru familia lor, crezând că erau destinate să petreacă toate zilele la adăpost. Din păcate, deși acest lucru a îmbunătățit puțin existența lor, Daphne era împinsă de cei din familie și nu mânca. Așa că a fost mutată înapoi în cușca ei veche, unde pare să fi avut o mică transformare. Daphne vine acum pe o frântură și se amestecă cu ceilalți câini atunci când voluntarii vin. În continuare Daphne are încă multe de parcurs înainte ca noi să putem considera că ar putea fi reîmbrăcată, dar cu pași mici, la fel ca mulți dintre cei de-alături, sperăm că vreodată o vom vedea în propria ei casă liniștită, unde va putea învăța să fie un câine iubit. Încă sunt foarte rezervată, dar visul meu este un tată sau o mamă bună care să mă încurajeze să iau viața în palme.

Daphne is one of our original Ghost Dogs who arrived at the shelter with her 4 siblings 6 years ago. Until recently we thought that there was no hope of any of this sad family ever finding homes. So last year we built a special family pen for them believing that they were destined to spend all their days at the shelter. Unfortunately, although this improved their existance somewhat Daphne was being pushed out by her siblings and wasn’t eating. So she was moved back into her old kennel where she seems to have had a small transformation. Daphne now will come out on a leash and mix with the other dogs when the volunteers visit. Poor Daphne still has a huge way to go before we can consider to re-home her but with small steps, just like many Ghost Dogs before her, we hope that one day we will see her in her own quiet home where she can learn to be a loved dog. I’m still very shy but dream of a kind mum or dad to coax me out of my shell.
