Daphne è uno dei nostri originari Ghost Dogs che è arrivata al rifugio con i suoi 4 fratelli 6 anni fa. Finora pensavamo che non ci fosse speranza che questa triste famiglia trovasse una casa. Allora l'anno scorso abbiamo costruito una recinzione speciale per la loro famiglia, credendo che sarebbero stati destinati a passare tutti i loro giorni al rifugio. Purtroppo, anche se questo ha migliorato leggermente la loro esistenza, Daphne veniva spinta via dai suoi fratelli e non mangiava. Quindi è stata rimessa nella sua vecchia gabbia dove sembra aver avuto una piccola trasformazione. Daphne ora esce con una guinzaglio e si mescola agli altri cani quando i volontari vengono. Povera Daphne ha ancora un lungo cammino da fare prima che possiamo considerarla idonea per un nuovo ambiente, ma con piccoli passi, come molti Ghost Dogs prima di lei, speriamo che un giorno la vedremo nella sua tranquilla casa personale dove potrà imparare ad essere un cane amato. Sono ancora molto timida ma sogno una mamma o un papà gentile che mi faccia uscire dal mio guscio.

Daphne is one of our original Ghost Dogs who arrived at the shelter with her 4 siblings 6 years ago. Until recently we thought that there was no hope of any of this sad family ever finding homes. So last year we built a special family pen for them believing that they were destined to spend all their days at the shelter. Unfortunately, although this improved their existance somewhat Daphne was being pushed out by her siblings and wasn’t eating. So she was moved back into her old kennel where she seems to have had a small transformation. Daphne now will come out on a leash and mix with the other dogs when the volunteers visit. Poor Daphne still has a huge way to go before we can consider to re-home her but with small steps, just like many Ghost Dogs before her, we hope that one day we will see her in her own quiet home where she can learn to be a loved dog. I’m still very shy but dream of a kind mum or dad to coax me out of my shell.
