Uppdatering 19.12.2024: Glad CHAPPY har inte alltid varit den lugne, kärleksfulla äldre hunden han är idag. Med mycket kärlek och tålamod gjorde han en fullkomlig förändring – från en rädd hund som inte kunde röras till... ja, se själv! Han är ett verkligt exempel på hur kärlek kan förändra någon. Chappy är nu bra med människor, älskar kramar och älskar sina skrattande leksaker. Uppdatering 9.7.2024: Chappy är fortfarande hos oss. Han är en äldre hund och svart. Skall han behöva bo hela sitt liv i en skyddshundskörd? Uppdatering 17.1.2023: Chappy är fortfarande glad. Han har blivit mycket god med människor. Han behöver lite tid att vänja sig till de människor han inte känner, antagligen på grund av hans tidigare liv, men också för att vi inte har många män på djurhemmet. Han är bara en glad äldre hund som njuter av all sorts uppmärksamhet han kan få. Han älskar kramar och sina skrattande leksaker, men aldrig sönder dem. Han är väldigt ren, han gör aldrig sin affär i sin bur. Han är god med andra hundar, men eftersom han själv är äldre skulle han hellre ha en mer stilla hemma utan stökiga ungar. Mycket osannolikt att han är god med katter. Ja, inte god med katter… Hans ålder. 12? Jo, 10+ Uppdatering 31.12.2020 Chappy var kedjad till ett träd hela sitt liv. Chappy är redan en äldre hund och även om han inte beter sig som en, verkar han förstå att det inte finns någon tid för honom att beklaga sig eller vara arg hela dagen. Chappy är inte liknande den han var när han kom till djurhemmet i juli. Han är glad nu. Han kanske är en äldre hund, men det finns fortfarande tillräckligt med tid kvar för honom att uppleva vad det är för att gå promenad, sova i ett varmt hem, ha en familj som bryr sig om honom eller sova in vid soffan bredvid sin favoritmänniska. Det finns fortfarande tillräckligt med tid för allt detta, om det finns någon där ute som vill ge honom en chans. Inte Chappy, utan HÄRLIG! Uppdatering 23.11.2020: Det visade sig att han faktiskt är en mycket snäll och kramig karl så snart han förlitar sig på någon. Hans historia: Ställ er i våra skoar. Någon kommer upp till djurhemmet. De säger att de ska åka tillbaka till sitt land och inte kan ta med sin 10+ år gamla hund och de vill inte lämna den. Hundens har aldrig vaccinerats, aldrig kastrerats, aldrig behandlats för parasiter och den tycker om att gnälla. Tar ni emot den? Ställ er i våra skoar. Välkommen Chappy. Förlåt!

Update 19.12.2024: Happy CHAPPY hasn’t always been the gentle, affectionate senior he is today. With lots of love and patience, he did a complete 180—from a frightened dog who couldn’t be touched to… well, see for yourself! He’s a true example of how love can change someone. Chappy is now great with people, loves cuddles, and adores his squeaky toys. Update 9.7.2024: Chappy is also still with us. He is a senior and he is black. Will he have to stay his whole life in a shelter? Update 17.1.2023: Chappy is still happy. He has become very good with people. He needs a bit of time to warm up men he doesn´t know, Probably because of his past, but also because we don´t have many men at the shelter. He´s just a happy senior enjoying all kind of attention he can get. He loves cuddles and his squeaky toys, but never destroys them. He´s very clean, he never does his business inside his pen. He´s good with other dogs, but being a senior himself he´d prefer a more quiet home without any boisterous youngsters. Much likely not good with cats. Yeah, not good with cats… His age. 12? Well, 10+ Update 31.12.2020 Chappy was chained to a tree his whole life. Chappy is already a senior and though he doesn't act like one, he seems to understand that there's no time for him to pity himself or to be angry all day. Chappy is nothing like he was when he found his way to the shelter in July. He's happy now. He might be a senior, but there's still enough time left for him to experience what it's like to go for a walk, to sleep in a warm home, to have a family that cares about him or to fall asleep on the couch next to his favorite human. There's still enough time for all this, if there's someone out there willing to give him a chance. Not Chappy, but HAPPY! Update 23.11.2020: It turns out that he's actually a very sweet and cuddly fellow as soon as he trust someone His story: Put yourself in our shoes. Someone drives up outside of the shelter. They tell you that they are going back to their country and can't take their 10+ year old dog with them and they don't want to abandon it.The dog has never been vaccinated, has never been castrated, has never been treated for parasites and it bites.
