Actualización 19.12.2024: Feliz CHAPPY no siempre ha sido el anciano tranquilo y cariñoso que es hoy. Con mucho amor y paciencia, hizo una completa vuelta de 180: de un perro asustado que no podía ser tocado a... bueno, ¡míralo tú mismo! Es un verdadero ejemplo de cómo el amor puede cambiar a alguien. Chappy ahora está muy bien con las personas, le encantan los abrazos y adora sus juguetes que hacen ruido. Actualización 9.7.2024: Chappy sigue con nosotros. Es un anciano y es negro. ¿Tendrá que quedarse toda su vida en un refugio? Actualización 17.1.2023: Chappy sigue siendo feliz. Se ha vuelto muy buena con las personas. Necesita un poco de tiempo para calentarse con las personas que no conoce, probablemente debido a su pasado, pero también porque no tenemos muchos hombres en el refugio. Es simplemente un anciano feliz que disfruta de toda clase de atención que puede recibir. Le encantan los abrazos y sus juguetes que hacen ruido, pero nunca los destruye. Es muy limpio, nunca hace sus necesidades dentro de su jaula. Está bien con otros perros, pero siendo un anciano él mismo preferiría una casa más tranquila sin jóvenes ruidosos. Probablemente no sea bueno con gatos. Sí, no es bueno con gatos... Su edad. 12? Bien, 10+ Actualización 31.12.2020 Chappy estuvo atado a un árbol toda su vida. Chappy ya es un anciano y aunque no actúa como uno, parece entender que no hay tiempo para compadecerse a sí mismo o estar enojado todo el día. Chappy no es nada como cuando llegó al refugio en julio. Ahora es feliz. Puede que sea un anciano, pero todavía hay suficiente tiempo para que experimente lo que es dar un paseo, dormir en una casa cálida, tener una familia que se preocupe por él o dormir en el sofá junto a su persona favorita. Aún hay suficiente tiempo para todo esto, si alguien allá afuera está dispuesto a darle una oportunidad. No es Chappy, sino HAPPY! Actualización 23.11.2020: Resulta que es un tipo muy dulce y cariñoso tan pronto como confía en alguien. Su historia: Pónganse en nuestros zapatos. Alguien llega afuera del refugio. Les dice que van a regresar a su país y no pueden llevar consigo a su perro de más de 10 años y no quieren abandonarlo. El perro nunca ha estado vacunado, nunca ha sido esterilizado, nunca ha recibido tratamiento contra parásitos y muerde. ¿Lo toman? Pónganse en nuestros zapatos. Bienvenido Chappy. Mierda!

Update 19.12.2024: Happy CHAPPY hasn’t always been the gentle, affectionate senior he is today. With lots of love and patience, he did a complete 180—from a frightened dog who couldn’t be touched to… well, see for yourself! He’s a true example of how love can change someone. Chappy is now great with people, loves cuddles, and adores his squeaky toys. Update 9.7.2024: Chappy is also still with us. He is a senior and he is black. Will he have to stay his whole life in a shelter? Update 17.1.2023: Chappy is still happy. He has become very good with people. He needs a bit of time to warm up men he doesn´t know, Probably because of his past, but also because we don´t have many men at the shelter. He´s just a happy senior enjoying all kind of attention he can get. He loves cuddles and his squeaky toys, but never destroys them. He´s very clean, he never does his business inside his pen. He´s good with other dogs, but being a senior himself he´d prefer a more quiet home without any boisterous youngsters. Much likely not good with cats. Yeah, not good with cats… His age. 12? Well, 10+ Update 31.12.2020 Chappy was chained to a tree his whole life. Chappy is already a senior and though he doesn't act like one, he seems to understand that there's no time for him to pity himself or to be angry all day. Chappy is nothing like he was when he found his way to the shelter in July. He's happy now. He might be a senior, but there's still enough time left for him to experience what it's like to go for a walk, to sleep in a warm home, to have a family that cares about him or to fall asleep on the couch next to his favorite human. There's still enough time for all this, if there's someone out there willing to give him a chance. Not Chappy, but HAPPY! Update 23.11.2020: It turns out that he's actually a very sweet and cuddly fellow as soon as he trust someone His story: Put yourself in our shoes. Someone drives up outside of the shelter. They tell you that they are going back to their country and can't take their 10+ year old dog with them and they don't want to abandon it.The dog has never been vaccinated, has never been castrated, has never been treated for parasites and it bites.
