Grodek

Male · Young · 1 year

Grodek is a wonderful young dog who is just learning about the world. He can be shy at first contact, but he quickly opens up—and it’s really hard not to fall in love with him. Taking a walk with him is pure joy: he walks nicely on a loose leash, doesn’t pull, sniffs a lot, and simply takes in his surroundings. At the same time, he’s very attentive to his handler—he makes sure you’re right there beside him, and in more challenging moments, he seeks support from the volunteer accompanying him. Grodek took part in the “Adopt a Warsaw Resident” campaign, and we already know he thrives in the city—bicycles, crowds of people, and noise haven’t scared him at all. He even aced the car-driving test with flying colors! He loves playing—when he’s having fun, he shows his whole self: he jumps, runs, tugs, just as any young dog would 🙂 He’s full of energy and eager to learn; he just needs his own home to do it. Grodek is waiting for someone who’ll give him the chance to grow up in peace and surround him with care and love—someone with whom he can explore and experience a world bigger than the shelter kennel. Come meet Grodek—maybe he’s waiting just for you? Luiza 881534600

PL·Show original

Luiza 881534600

About Grodek

What life with Grodek looks like

Grodek is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grodek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grodek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grodek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grodek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grodek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grodek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grodek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
