Bajgiel

Male · Adult · 6 years

The animal is under the care of the Paluch Friends Foundation and is not staying at the shelter. Individuals interested in adopting Bajgiel are asked to contact the foundation directly. Bajgiel is a roughly 7-year-old, snow-white kitten with gray accents. His story isn't a bed of roses. We met Bajgiel at the shelter, where he was the life of the party, always ready for a cuddle. Unfortunately, Bajgiel had to be urgently removed from the shelter because he developed peritonitis, and only several months of painful treatment could save his life. The treatment was successful, but over time, Bajgiel began showing aggressive behavior toward his caretaker and other residents. Sadly, he had to change temporary homes—he moved into a new place with his shelter friend Leyla. At his new home, Bajgiel became much calmer. He found his sanctuary on the balcony, where he spends his days observing his surroundings and teasing his neighbor :). Our dear sensitive boy also underwent dental cleaning, as we’re constantly checking to make sure he doesn’t have any underlying health issues that might trigger his aggressive behavior. So far, Bajgiel hasn’t “shown his claws” once in his new home, so we believe he simply needs to be an only cat and have human companionship all to himself. Aside from occasional incidents, Bajgiel is a very sweet and cuddly cat. He loves spending time with humans and accompanying them during household chores, yet it’s clear he also needs his own personal space to rest and recharge from stimuli he doesn’t always know how to handle. The boy also really respects his caretakers’ morning routines and doesn’t stand by their heads at 5 a.m., waiting for food—instead, he politely waits until his caretaker has left Morpheus’ embrace 🙂 Playing fetch with balls, chasing strings, and having fun in the tunnel are regular parts of his daily routine. But any time of day is also perfect for a little nap with his belly up. Occasionally, he’ll even hunt for bits of paper and plastic and stick his paws into plastic bags. So you need to keep an eye out to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself. On the flip side, though, he’s a fantastic teacher of tidiness! Bajgiel doesn’t like changes in his diet, and when he gets a new food, he quickly comes to complain. However, we’ve managed to introduce wet food, and now the kitten enjoys Animonda Carny canned food as well as hypoallergenic dry food. We continue to closely monitor Bajgiel to stabilize his behavior and ensure it’s not caused by any underlying medical condition. He’d do best in a calm home without small children or other pets, with a predictable daily routine as much as possible. A balcony would be the perfect cherry on top, since it’s clear that watching what’s happening outside the window is deeply soothing for him. Prospective adopters should be understanding and give both the kitten and themselves time to get to know each other and understand his needs. 🎈Bajgiel is neutered 🎈has negative FIV/FeLV tests 🎈is microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated 🎈uses the litter box and scratching post flawlessly. 🎈just had a dental checkup. Trzeba więc uważać, by nie zrobił sobie krzywdy. Powinien trafić do spokojnego domu bez małych dzieci i innych zwierząt z możliwie przewidywalnym planem dnia.

About Bajgiel

What life with Bajgiel looks like

Bajgiel is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bajgiel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bajgiel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bajgiel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bajgiel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bajgiel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bajgiel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bajgiel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
