They were with 5 female rats, We have now homed the female rats They came into the shelter as 8 week old babies on 04/01/26. Now they are chunky big boys. We are hoping they can be rehomed together. They are usually snuggled up together in their little house. These boys did not have the best start in life so are still shy and wary of humans. But they will come forward and take treats from you. They are very inquisitive and want to know what you are doing and if you have a nice tasty snack for them Do you have experience in rats, have the patience to show these lovely boys that humans are lovely and give lovely treats and cuddles ( in time) Taking pictures of rats is never easy so these are the best pictures we could get!! About 3 Male rats

What life with 3 Male rats looks like

3 Male rats is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed animal waiting at RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows 3 Male rats far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting 3 Male rats, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about 3 Male rats?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw 3 Male rats on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt 3 Male rats if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is 3 Male rats already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if 3 Male rats isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Brighton and the Heart of Sussex early rather than rehoming privately; they know 3 Male rats and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
