5 Geschwister

Male · Young · 1 year

This group of dogs was dumped in the countryside like trash—without shelter from rain, wind, and sun, no water, and no food. Now they've landed in a fortunately good shelter, where they received their first treatments. The female dogs will be spayed soon. All the dogs are around one year old, but they have no fear of people, are full of energy, and want to learn about the big wide world. Leash training is practiced in slow steps. For these wonderful "raw diamonds," we are looking for responsible people who can give the dogs the time they need to settle in and who want to teach them the basics of dog behavior in slow steps. However, these dogs are NOT suitable for first-time dog owners. We introduce them to you individually: three female dogs, Salvia, Oliva, and Nespola, and two male dogs, Zenzero and Pepe, medium-sized, beautiful, affectionate, and cheerful, and they all seek a future outside of the kennel.

About 5 Geschwister

What life with 5 Geschwister looks like

5 Geschwister is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at SOS Strassenhunde in Sos Strassenhunde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting 5 Geschwister, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about 5 Geschwister?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Strassenhunde handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw 5 Geschwister on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt 5 Geschwister if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Strassenhunde will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is 5 Geschwister already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if 5 Geschwister isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Strassenhunde early rather than rehoming privately; they know 5 Geschwister and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
