6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home

Labrador Retriever · Female · Adult · 6 years

This beautiful 6-year-old Labrador is looking for a loving forever home where she can enjoy the attention, exercise and companionship she deserves. She is a gentle, affectionate girl who loves people and enjoys nothing more than cuddles on the sofa after a good play with her favourite toys. She has lived happily with other dogs, cats and children, making her a wonderful family companion. Like many Labradors, she is full of enthusiasm and can be very strong on the lead. She will need an owner who is confident handling a powerful dog and is willing to continue her lead training with patience and consistency. Her previous owners have made the difficult decision to rehome her because they are no longer able to give her the time and exercise she needs. She can be a little excitable when meeting new people, often greeting visitors with plenty of enthusiasm, but she soon settles and absolutely loves fuss and attention. She is fully house trained, enjoys playing with her toys and has a lovely, gentle nature. Being a typical Labrador, she is very food motivated and has been known to ‘counter surf’ if given the opportunity, although she eats well and has a very soft mouth. Ideally, we’re looking for a home with someone who has experience of Labradors or similar active breeds and who has the time to continue her training and give her the exercise and companionship she enjoys. She has lived with children of all ages, although older children may be more suitable due to her size and streng

Frequently asked

Adopting 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Labrador Rescue South East and Central handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Labrador Rescue South East and Central will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Labrador Rescue South East and Central early rather than rehoming privately; they know 6 Year Old Female Labrador Looking for a Forever Home and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
