Jump Suit

Labrador Retriever · Male · Adult · 4 years

Jump Suit is a 4.5-year-old Labrador male (approx. 29kg) with the typically cheerful and friendly nature of his breed. Despite his hip dysplasia, he goes through life with much joie de vivre and always meets his environment openly and cheerfully. Jumpy greets people warmly and often a bit stormily. He likes to use his whole body and sometimes underestimates his own strength. For this reason, we do not see him in a home with small children. In everyday life, it is still difficult for him to calm down in the presence of people. He likes to be involved and needs support to learn relaxation and composure. With conspecifics, he shows himself rather reserved at first. However, once he has gained trust, he presents himself as a social and more tolerant dog. Jumpy can be seen that he has not had too much experience in life so far. In stimulating or unfamiliar situations, he is sometimes quickly overwhelmed and then does not know how to react. In such moments, he needs a confident reference person who gives him security and orientation. He takes this very well, because Jumpy likes to orientate himself towards his people. He already has good basic obedience, which should continue to be consistently promoted. With his energetic and powerful nature, he may still learn to express his joy more controlled and regulate himself better in exciting situations. We wish for Jumpy a home with people who enjoy leading him lovingly and clearly, giving him security and working together with him. Who gives him this chance wins a loyal, cheerful and lovable companion by his side.

DE·Show original

About Jump Suit

What life with Jump Suit looks like

Jump Suit is a adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Zürcher Tierschutz in Zürich.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jump Suit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jump Suit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Zürcher Tierschutz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jump Suit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jump Suit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Zürcher Tierschutz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jump Suit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jump Suit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Zürcher Tierschutz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jump Suit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
