Acord – on the search for his very own harmony ❤️ .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-27 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-imageframe.imageframe-4 img{aspect-ratio:2 / 3;object-position:30% 33%;} .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-28 > Aufenthaltsort: Animal Shelter in Osijek, Croatia Breed: Labrador mix Birth date: 19.11.2025 Height at the shoulder: 50 cm, 21 kg Has not met children yet Compatibility with cats unknown Single or second dog ideal environment: suburban, rural suitable for: ambitious dog beginners .fusion-body .fusion-button Direct to self-disclosure .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-29 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-gallery-4 Loading the next set of gallery items... load more images... .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-30 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container Sometimes it takes a little time for individual tones to create harmony. And maybe the name Acord, which stands for a musical chord or harmony, is therefore particularly well suited to this young dog. ❤️ Acord was found together with another dog and came to the animal shelter in March 2026. While the other dog had an owner, Acord was left behind. Unfortunately, we do not know where and how he lived before. Visually, the young dog resembles a Labrador mix. We find his unusual fur color particularly beautiful: his predominantly light, creamy fur is interspersed with slightly darker parts. Together with his slightly darker ears, this gives him a very special and incredibly sweet look. Acord is a lively, playful and very cuddly young dog who apparently has not had much to learn yet. His game can be accordingly wild and a bit clumsy. He also likes to take a hand in his mouth in contact without wanting to hurt. This is where people are needed who show him friendly and consistently which other possibilities there are for making contact. At the same time, Acord shows a very sensitive and insecure side. He was very cautious of people at first and sometimes fled from an approach. If someone comes to him, he often lies submissively on the ground. We do not know what Acord has experienced in his previous life - his behavior suggests, however, that contact with people has not always been positive for him. All the more important for him are patient and confident people who give him security and do not force trust. At the same time, the young dog needs clear structures, appropriate physical and mental exercise and of course the entire dog multiplication table. A visit to a good dog school would therefore be very desirable. Due to his still quite physical and unrestrained nature, we do not see Acord with small children. His future people should enjoy working with him, conveying boundaries to him in a comprehensible way and at the same time giving him the necessary time and security. Because behind his insecurity and sometimes a bit wild nature is also a big cuddly bear who can enjoy closeness and affection very much. ❤️ Who wants to show Acord that he can trust people, grow together with him and bring a little harmony into his life? 🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interest in an adoption? About Acord

What life with Acord looks like

Acord is a small young adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Acord, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Acord?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Acord on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Acord if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Acord already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Acord isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Acord and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
