Victime

Belgian Malinois · Female · Senior · 11 years

Mayka was seized by authorities by the Assistance to Animals Foundation: she was Victime of animal neglect. Born towards the end of 2014, this beautiful almost 11-year-old cross-breed Malinois has managed to transform her difficult past into an incredible lesson in resilience. Despite what she has experienced, she has never lost her trust in humans and continues to spread smiles to everyone she meets. At the shelter, the animal care team describes her as a true ray of sunshine: always joyful, curious, and especially very affectionate. Mayka loves tender moments, long walks, playing in the grass, and... the soft baskets where she can rest. A family present, gentle, and affectionate, capable of giving her attention, love, and beautiful walks. Mayka enjoys other dogs during walks, but on a daily basis, she prefers to be the only one receiving hugs.

About Victime

What life with Victime looks like

Victime is a large senior belgian malinois cat waiting at Fondation Assistance aux Animaux in Paris.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

Note from the shelter: Requires being the only dog in household for daily attention, though enjoys other dogs during walks

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Victime, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Victime?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fondation Assistance aux Animaux handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Victime on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Victime if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fondation Assistance aux Animaux will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Victime already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Victime isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fondation Assistance aux Animaux early rather than rehoming privately; they know Victime and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
