Addie

Mixed Breed · Female

We need a foster or forever home for our lovely Addie. He was in the pound with his brother (Mylie) for a number of weeks. He had entropian (turned in eyelids) which must nave been very sore for him but he has had surgery to correct this since coming into our care and it was 100% successful. His brother went to foster and is doing well and Addie is now looking for a foster or forever home. He is very sweet, loves cuddles and would sit with you all day for the rubs. In typical bullies fashion he loves his comforts (nice beds, snug places), loves chews and bones and loves to play, especially with a ball and will play with you or entertain himself . He is good with other dogs and very sweet but will need a foster home that is committed to helping with the usual fostering basics like lead training, ongoing house training, crate training etc. The good news is that he is a real foodie and very keen to learn. His ideal foster home will be one: - with adults only or adults and teenagers - with someone home most of the time, at least initially - in a quietish area to give him time to decompress from the move - with no other dogs or other pets or with a mature female dog and ability to keep them separate initially until appropriate introductions can be done. - with bull breed experience ideally, just to know the usually bullies rough and tumble silly ways . Addie is a very soft, sweet boy who really deserves the very best home. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped (microchip no: 972274200164382). We can supply everything he needs in foster. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Addie please go to www.adogslife ie/foster and fill out foster form. Please read Addie's profile carefully and apply only if you feel you match the criteria. We will only be able to process applications that match Addie's needs. Department Registration No: JPT20000

About Addie

What life with Addie looks like

Addie is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at A Dog in Glenmore.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Addie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Addie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A Dog handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Addie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Addie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A Dog will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Addie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Addie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A Dog early rather than rehoming privately; they know Addie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
