Adopt Adele

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Animal rescuer: Virginia Georgieva Born: approx. April 2025 Sex: female Location: Bulgaria Neutered: yes FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Disabilities: no eyes left Compatible with: Children: unknown Cats: yes Dogs: unknown Requirements: NO solitary housing Suitable for apartment living only NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desirable (if present, must be secured) Adele comes from a place where she never truly received the care she needed. She lived with numerous other cats at an elderly woman’s home, who is simply unable to properly care for so many cats. Virginia is now trying, step by step, to help and get the cats out of that situation. But it isn’t easy—the woman keeps obstructing efforts. It takes a great deal of patience, understanding, and sensitivity to still give these animals a chance. Adele is one of the lucky ones who has already made it out. It quickly became clear that Adele urgently needed medical attention. Both of her eyes were completely destroyed—likely due to an earlier, untreated infection. By that time, Adele was already blind. At the veterinary clinic, the doctors removed the remnants of both eyes to prevent further health complications. Adele is a wonderfully affectionate little cat. She loves to play, is curious, and occasionally gets playful little whims—that’s exactly what makes her so endearing. She’s simply an adorable little girl. Equally, she enjoys seeking closeness with her humans. At the animal shelter, Adele is quite clingy, loves cuddling, and thoroughly enjoys her snuggles. She also gets along very well with other cats—she’s relaxed and easygoing around them. We hope to find Adele a calm, loving home with very special people who will give her the time she needs to settle in peacefully and feel secure. Even blind cats often manage daily life remarkably well when they have a familiar environment and people who meet them with patience and empathy. Whoever adopts Adele will receive a little soul who gives her heart away very quickly.

About Adele

What life with Adele looks like

Adele is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adele, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adele?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adele on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adele if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adele already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adele isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adele and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
