However, once she warms up, she's a bundle of energy and loves to run, climb, and play. She's not a lap cat, but she enjoys cuddles on her own terms. Ruba is a bit sensitive with her stomach and requires special food, which she'll need to continue for the rest of her life. She's looking for a calm and loving home where she can explore and set her own pace. She'd love to go home with her sister Dushi, but if that's not possible, she's also happy to go alone. Hoi, ik ben Ruba! Ik ben een grappig zwart-wit kereltje met een ondeugend koppie, tenminste, dat zegt mijn gastmoeder. En eerlijk is eerlijk: met mijn apenstreken maak ik die reputatie helemaal waar, vooral wanneer ik samen met mijn zusje Dushi speel! Bij nieuwe mensen ben ik in het begin een beetje verlegen. Van een hand die onverwacht mijn kant op komt, kan ik nog weleens terugdeinzen. Maar als je rustig gaat zitten en mij zelf het tempo laat bepalen, kom ik vanzelf kennismaken. Mijn nieuwsgierigheid wint het namelijk bijna altijd van mijn verlegenheid. Een lekker snackje helpt daar natuurlijk ook bij, want liefde gaat tenslotte door de maag. Zodra ik je vertrouw, laat ik graag mijn speelse kant zien. Ik kan heerlijk rennen, klimmen en stoeien met Dushi. Als ik ben uitgespeeld, kruip ik graag in mijn fijne mandje om lekker weg te dromen. Ik ben (nog) geen echte schootkat, maar op zijn tijd kan ik een knuffelsessie zeker waarderen. In tegenstelling tot mijn zusje kan ik best vocaal zijn. Verwacht geen lange verhalen, hoor: ik laat gewoon kort en krachtig weten wat ik nodig heb of wat ik heb meegemaakt. Zo weet je altijd waar je aan toe bent! Van onverwachte bewegingen en harde geluiden kan ik nog schrikken. Daarom zou ik in een erg druk gezin waarschijnlijk niet helemaal tot mijn recht komen. Ik ben opgegroeid met mijn moeder, zusjes en broertjes. Later bleek dat ik niet helemaal fit was. Daarom verhuisde ik samen met Dushi naar een ander gastgezin, waar onze gezondheid extra goed in de gaten kon worden gehouden. We bleken een blaasontsteking en longworm te hebben. Dat klinkt gelukkig spannender dan het is: mijn behandeling is inmiddels helemaal afgerond en ik ben weer helemaal opgeknapt. Ik voel me uitstekend en ben meer dan klaar voor een eigen thuis! Vanwege mijn gevoelige maag-darmstelsel krijg ik speciale brokken. Het is belangrijk dat ik deze voeding blijf krijgen, waarschijnlijk de rest van mijn leven. Mijn ideale thuis is een rustige en liefdevolle plek waar ik lekker mijn gang mag gaan. Ik zoek een baasje dat mij de tijd geeft om mijn nieuwe omgeving te ontdekken en mij zelf laat bepalen wanneer ik een stapje dichterbij zet. Iemand die niet verwacht dat ik een schootkat word, maar een lekker knuffeltje tegen een hand of een kopje langs de benen net zo bijzonder vindt. Het liefst verhuis ik samen met mijn zusje Dushi, want we vormen een hecht stel. Als dat niet mogelijk is, kan ik eventueel ook alleen verhuizen. Wil je alvast meer van ons zien?
