I am a black and white kitten with a lovely soft coat and distinctive folded ears. This indicates that Scottish Fold is part of my family. Since the beginning of 2026, stricter rules have been in place for cats like me. The folded ears are caused by a hereditary defect of cartilage and bones, called osteochondrodysplasia. Because I am being rehomed through an animal shelter, I am lucky to be able to find a new home. I have been examined and X-rays have been taken, and they look good now. Fortunately, I am currently green rated: I have no noticeable pain or limitations and run, play, and jump like a young cat should. However, joint problems may arise in the future. That's why it's important that I get checked by a veterinarian annually and that my bones and joints are re-evaluated as needed, because I'm still growing. But of course, I'm just Munk! I'm a bit cautious and like to check things out first. My sister Chip is a bit faster with cuddling, but give me a toy and I'll come loose completely. Chip is my big support, which is why we want to move together. We are looking for a quiet and loving home where I can gain trust at my own pace. With some patience, love, and fun playtime, I expect to come out of my shell more and more. Do you have a nice place for Chip and me? Samen met mijn zusje Chip en onze mama ben ik in het asiel terechtgekomen. Ik ben een zwart-wit poesje met een heerlijk zachte vacht en opvallende gevouwen oortjes. Daardoor weten we dat er in ieder geval Scottish Fold in mijn familie zit. Sinds begin 2026 gelden er strengere regels voor katten zoals ik. De gevouwen oren worden veroorzaakt door een erfelijke afwijking van kraakbeen en botten, genaamd osteochondrodysplasie. Omdat ik via een dierenasiel word herplaatst, mag ik gelukkig wel op zoek naar een nieuw thuis. Ik ben onderzocht en er zijn röntgenfoto’s gemaakt en die zien er nu goed uit. Gelukkig ben ik op dit moment groen beoordeeld: ik heb geen merkbare pijn of beperkingen en ren, speel en spring zoals een jonge kat hoort te doen. Wel kunnen er in de toekomst gewrichtsproblemen ontstaan. Daarom is het belangrijk dat ik jaarlijks door een dierenarts word gecontroleerd en dat mijn botten en gewrichten waar nodig opnieuw worden beoordeeld, want tjah ik ben ook gewoon nog in de groei. Maar ik ben natuurlijk vooral gewoon Munk! Ik ben nog wat voorzichtig en kijk graag eerst even de kat uit de boom. Mijn zusje Chip is wat sneller met knuffelen, maar geef mij een speeltje en ik kom helemaal los. Chip is mijn grote steun en daarom willen we graag samen verhuizen. We zoeken een rustig en liefdevol huis waar ik op mijn eigen tempo vertrouwen mag krijgen. Met wat geduld, liefde en leuke speelmomenten verwacht ik steeds verder uit mijn schulp te kruipen.
