Adopt AGATHE

Female · Young · 3 years

Sighted: 29/01/2024 Breed: Blanc Bleu Belge Sex: Female Microchip: BE466551968 Born: 01/04/2023 Country: Belgium At the shelter since: 29/01/2024 AGATHE was seized by authorities at a scrupulous farmer, where she and other cattle lived in deplorable conditions, covered in lice and very thin. Her weakness led her to be easily captured. Today, she has regained her strength and has become a lively young cow. Although she can be stubborn with the caretakers, AGATHE does so in a gentle manner, showing her dynamic nature and her determination to assert herself. AGATHE must live with, at least, another fellow animal of the same species. Adoption is possible only with a "permit to detain an animal." For more information, please contact us ONLY by telephone at 02 204 49 50.

About AGATHE

What life with AGATHE looks like

AGATHE is a young adult dog waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting AGATHE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about AGATHE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw AGATHE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt AGATHE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is AGATHE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if AGATHE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know AGATHE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
