MIMA

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 4 years

MIMA is a beautiful European cat who is just waiting for one thing: to finally find a place to call her own. MIMA is a kind, serene, and endearing cat. Accustomed to outdoor life, she has retained the independence typical of stray cats, but this doesn't prevent her from appreciating the company and tranquility of a loving home. She tolerates solitude very well, making her an ideal companion for people who work or are away regularly. She gets along well with her feline companions and can therefore coexist peacefully with other cats. However, she is not comfortable with dogs, so you will need to provide her with a home without a canine companion. She tolerates traveling by car very well, a real plus for trips to the vet or holidays! Accustomed to wide open spaces, MIMA needs access to a garden to flourish fully. The ideal home for MIMA We are looking for her: - A house with an accessible garden - A home without a dog - Ideally a home with other cats, or at least open to this possibility - A family without young children, Ma Mie appreciating calm and gentleness - Patient adopters, ready to give her time to settle at her own pace For people domiciled in Wallonia, adoption is only possible with a "permit to keep an animal". Do you think you are the family she needs? Don't hesitate to contact us by phone at 02 204 49 50 to learn more and arrange a meeting!

About MIMA

What life with MIMA looks like

MIMA is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting MIMA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MIMA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MIMA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MIMA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MIMA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MIMA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know MIMA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
