AÏDA

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Aida is a little kitten we had as a kitten, she was adopted and 11 years later, because the conditions of the house are no longer suitable and her care is too expensive, she is back with us... Aida has been with us for several weeks and she has made a lot of progress, she was very withdrawn at first, obviously she didn't like being here, an abandonment is always very difficult for an animal to digest. She has chronic cat flu, probably due to the fact that she was not cared for at home anymore so the virus took over, she also has weakness in her hind legs, but the X-rays show nothing abnormal, it could be a neurological problem. All of this certainly did not help her relax when she arrived here. But today Aida shows us that she is here! She loves spending time in the conservatory and doesn't want to come back in, but when the door is closed and we don't open it for her, she definitely makes her displeasure known, the miss has a very nice voice! She now eats on the common plate with the others and she claims her place! She is too cute!!! We would like Aida not to end her life in the shelter but we know very well that with her health issues, adoption will be difficult, she is however adoptable under the Doyen operation which offers 1000€ in a fund for the animal's veterinary care since January 1st, 2026. Until we find the perfect family for a retirement basket, she is under sponsorship! Aida is microchipped, spayed, tested negative for FIV/Felv, dewormed and treated for fleas. Sponsorship is possible: - Entirely online on the HelloAsso platform with 100% secure payment (monthly withdrawal). - Directly at the shelter during opening hours.

About AÏDA

What life with AÏDA looks like

AÏDA is a small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Refuge Le Chat Et La Vie in Louvigny.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting AÏDA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about AÏDA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge Le Chat Et La Vie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw AÏDA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt AÏDA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refuge Le Chat Et La Vie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is AÏDA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if AÏDA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge Le Chat Et La Vie early rather than rehoming privately; they know AÏDA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
