Aina

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Aina is a beautiful, gentle female dog whose unique appearance immediately catches the eye. But it's not just her looks that make her special: in a quiet environment, she shows herself to be curious and playful, and is pleasantly balanced. She gets along well with other dogs and is generally straightforward. What she currently lacks is trust in people - and that's exactly what Aina needs time and patient people by her side to develop. Aina is approximately 7 years old, about 60-62 cm tall and weighs around 27 kg. She is a stately, beautiful dog with a very special aura. She still approaches people rather cautiously and doesn't come to them on her own. At the same time, she lets herself be touched and even picked up. When she was examined for her vaccination, she could be carried without any problems. This shows that she can already allow closeness, even if she remains cautious for now. Outside the kennel, in the protected exercise area, Aina already shows a much more relaxed side. She is curious, playful and explores her surroundings without being overly active. She also gets along well with other dogs. Aina was rescued from the public shelter in Zalău, where dogs are unfortunately still killed due to overcrowding. Aina was able to be moved to our rescue center in time and is now waiting to finally get to know her own home. Unfortunately, we don't know what her life was like before. It is certain that she is still learning to trust people. Walking on a leash is also still unfamiliar to Aina. In her new home, she will therefore have to be gradually introduced to all the things that are part of a normal dog's life. It is particularly important to have peace, patience and an empathetic approach. Aina doesn't need people who force something from her, but those who give her the time to build trust on her own. We wish Aina a quiet and loving home with people who enjoy giving a rather reserved dog a sense of security. She should be allowed to arrive at her own pace and experience that she can rely on her people. A confident first dog could be a valuable orientation for her, but it is not a requirement. It is likely that Aina has not lived in her own home before. Many everyday things - household noises, fixed routines or living with people in a house - will therefore be new to her. Her future family should give her the time to settle in quietly and get used to her new life step by step. With patience, empathy and loving guidance, Aina can gain more and more security and show her curious and playful side. With her approximately 7 years, she still has many beautiful years ahead of her and can finally experience what it's like to have her own home. Aina can leave at any time. She travels neutered, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and flea-free with her EU pet passport to her new home. After a positive preliminary check, she can be placed for a deposit. Aina would also be very happy about a loving foster home. Many thanks to Holzens for the naming sponsorship. Status: 24.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 24.09.2026

About Aina

What life with Aina looks like

Aina is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
