Aisha &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

I am female, vaccinated, microchipped, and born around 2015. I have been waiting for a new home since October 2022. I am approximately 30 cm tall. My caretakers say about me: Aisha is an intake from a friendly association to increase her chances of being adopted. She arrived with her sister Grace, at least a familial connection is quite likely. Both were initially a bit shy but warmed up quickly. Aisha is more reserved but also feisty, now both do great on walks, and it’s even possible for them to walk individually. Aisha’s uncertainties are often overshadowed by her attempts to jump and snuggle. Some training would be beneficial. We would be happy to place Aisha with a male dog, she gets along well, but can be a bit grumpy with females. Perhaps both will find a joint home, which would be a real treat for the girls. Other animals should be tried, we think a habituation is possible. Understanding children are no problem. A home with a house and garden would be great, but is not a condition. Currently, Aisha is successfully treated for Babesiosis. Occasionally, she shows brief neurological episodes, from which she recovers quickly. A blood test suggested a Toxoplasmosis suspicion, so she is currently in treatment. She tolerates it well, and interested parties will be advised accordingly if there is serious interest. Currently, Aisha has no notable limitations. Some etiquette refinement still needs to be worked out for both, but the lively bumblebee will quickly learn what is considered good form. We are convinced that one will feel like they are on a summer day with the cheerful Aisha – she will put a smile on everyone’s face. Who would like to meet the one who always laughs and give Aisha a chance?

About Aisha &#8211

What life with Aisha &#8211 looks like

Aisha &#8211 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aisha &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aisha &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aisha &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aisha &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aisha &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aisha &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aisha &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
