Aiwi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Aiwi had no particularly beautiful start in life. Dorel discovered the little puppy alone at a trash can near the shelter - right on a busy street. How she ended up there and where she originally came from, we unfortunately don't know. One thing is certain: a young puppy like that had no business being there alone. Dorel took her in and gave her the security she desperately needed. Aiwi is about three months old and will probably grow into a rather large dog. With her long, fluffy, white fur, she almost looks like a little polar bear. Her soft fur and sweet appearance make her a real eye-catcher. Aiwi is also a very charming little dog in terms of character. She is very loving and relatively calm for her age. Of course, it also happens with her as with all puppies: Then she zips through the kennel with the other puppies, frolics and plays wildly. Overall, however, she seems rather balanced and pleasant. It is particularly nice that Aiwi seeks human proximity. She likes to be stroked and enjoys the attention. She seems to really like people and enjoys loving attention. In terms of appearance, Aiwi has some features that can be reminiscent of a livestock guardian dog - especially her bright, long and very luxuriant fur and her expected size. Therefore, livestock guardian dog genes cannot be ruled out in her. Whether the corresponding genes are actually present and, if so, how strong the typical characteristics will show later, cannot be said at her young age, however. Livestock guardian dogs can be wonderful companions. They are often very loyal, build a close bond with their humans and can be calm, attentive and independent dogs. At the same time, they often have their own head and like to judge situations on their own. Depending on the extent, watchfulness, territorial behavior or a certain reserve towards strangers and unfamiliar situations can also be part of it. Therefore, we are looking for people for Aiwi who are willing to accompany her lovingly and patiently, give her clear and fair orientation and socialize her well from an early age. At the same time, one should be aware that the sweet little polar bear will once become a large dog with possibly very independent character. We wish Aiwi a home where she is gently introduced to everything that a dog's life outside the shelter has to offer. She is still very young and of course still has to learn everything - from the small and big rules of living together to house training, leash training and many new everyday situations. We wish our little polar bear people who give her security, spend time with her and enjoy discovering the world with her. After a positive preliminary check and against a deposit, Aiwi can travel to her new home chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and flea-free with an EU pet passport. Many thanks to Adriana L.! You gave Aiwi her name and thus an identity. Status: 26.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Aiwi hatte keinen besonders schönen Start ins Leben. Vielen Dank an Adriana L.! Stand: 26.09.2026

About Aiwi

What life with Aiwi looks like

Aiwi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aiwi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aiwi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aiwi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aiwi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aiwi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aiwi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aiwi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
