Adopt Ajkon

Male · Young · 3 years

Ajkon is a young, friendly, cheerful dog who is waiting for his chance at a real, good home. He already lived in a home, so we know he can be left alone for several hours and spends that time resting. He responds to some commands (sit, stay), to calling. He handles car rides well, and can walk nicely on a leash. Ajkon is a dog who communicates well with other dogs. He could get along with a canine resident after initial introduction. He gets excited by cats (especially when they run away). Ajkon loves people and once he knows someone, he becomes very attached. He is a very emotional dog and seeks support from people. At first, he needs wise support: clear boundaries, space to rest. For Ajkon, we are looking for a calm, predictable home that will help him, especially during the initial period after adoption, to calm his emotions. We are looking for people who lead a fairly structured lifestyle, looking for a companion for walks and lazy evenings on the couch.

Read original (pl)

To cudowny pies- szukamy kogoś, kto go pokocha takiego, jakim jest😊

About Ajkon

What life with Ajkon looks like

Ajkon is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ajkon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ajkon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ajkon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ajkon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ajkon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ajkon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ajkon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
