Aladin

Pointer · Male · Young · 1 year

Pointer crossbreed Aladin is a special dog. He is looking for special people. Originally from Spain, Aladin has already been living in Germany for some time and has taken important first steps towards a structured life. He is a special dog - sensitive, intelligent, and with his own unique needs. Aladin is looking for people who radiate calmness and at the same time enjoy challenging him mentally and physically. He wants to be supported, needs tasks for his mind and movement for his body. Equally important for him, however, is also being able to switch off afterwards: clear rest periods, a structured daily routine, and a home where he feels safe and secure. Too many stimuli overwhelm him quickly. Therefore, Aladin wishes for a home without children, without other dogs, and without small animals. Other animals greatly excite him, and it is then very difficult for him to calm down again. As a single dog, he can instead show how affectionate, sensitive, and loyal he is. For Aladin, we are looking for a quiet, rural home, ideally with a garden, where he can move freely. A single person or a quiet couple who place great value on structure, routines, and reliability would be best suited for him - people he can orient himself towards and who give him security. Aladin is not a dog "for the side." But for the right people, he is a very special companion who will respond with trust, closeness, and a deep bond. If you would like to meet Aladin, please contact his adoption officer.

About Aladin

What life with Aladin looks like

Aladin is a young adult pointer dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aladin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aladin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aladin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aladin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aladin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aladin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aladin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
