Alaia

Female · Young · 3 years

🐾 Alaia – a delicate heart to love Alaia is a tiny puppy with big, watchful eyes. There is something extremely subtle in her gaze – as if she is constantly making sure the world is truly safe. She is a female dog, delicate, sensitive and a little shy, who needs peace and a patient person more than anything in the world. She feels safest on your hands – she curls up with her fluffy body and breathes softly, as if saying: "Thank you for being here", but she also likes to walk with company and with the support of her sister and other calm dogs. Alaia is not the type of bold world conqueror. She blossoms slowly. She needs time, tenderness and a home where someone will show her that love doesn't disappear. For whom? For a calm, empathetic, but active walker. In return, Alaia will give boundless affection and the gentlest looks in the world. Recommended for adoption with her sister Tala, with whom she is very connected despite different characters.

PL·Show original

🐾 Alaia – delikatne serduszko do pokochania Alaia to maleńka kruszynka o wielkich, uważnych oczach.

About Alaia

What life with Alaia looks like

Alaia is a small young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires patient, calm owner due to fearful nature. Recommended for adoption with sister Tala.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alaia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alaia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alaia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alaia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alaia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alaia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alaia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
