Alana

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! Alana has found its own home quickly! 29413 Wallstawe. Alana can travel to her foster home in February! Her story: Zalau, Romania. Alana and Cuddles – two wonderful siblings who were rescued from the street together. In their short lives, they haven't experienced anything good, and we won't know why their fate was "street dog." But now, both are in safety at a private animal shelter in Zalau and are eagerly waiting for their home! Alana is about 4 months old and a really sweet, innocent-looking female dog. She is friendly, enjoys cuddles, and her secret passion is treats. She likes playing with the other puppies but is more introverted than her brother Cuddles. We assume she will grow to be small to medium-sized, given her short legs. Her appearance suggests that a herding dog is in her. She could be a Collie-mixed breed. Collies are intelligent and have a strong work ethic, as well as a "will to please" – the desire to fulfill needs. Collies are diligent, enduring, and give everything to make their owners happy. When herding or leading the animals, they demonstrate a great herding talent while always being attentive and friendly. They require competent and reliable leadership and should be allowed to fulfill their drive through activities like fetch and retrieve, search and rescue, or agility to avoid underutilization and related problems. Alana is looking for people who won't expect much from her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Alana should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently but lovingly during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Alana is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can travel after a positive match. Are you falling in love with this lovely soul? Many thanks to Michelle M.! You gave Alana her beautiful name!

Vielen Dank Michelle M.! Du hast Alana ihren schönen Namen geschenkt!

About Alana

What life with Alana looks like

Alana is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
