adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Bazi is a beautiful, young male dog who likely didn't have an easy start in life. Much about his past remains a mystery – whether he ever had a real home or was abandoned, we don't know. What we do know is that he was eventually surrendered to the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. There, he waits for someone to hear his quiet plea for a better life. In the last few weeks, a lot has changed for Bazi – for the better. The once completely unsettled male dog now shows small but significant progress. He now takes treats cautiously from the hand and no longer shows the fear that was described for him for a long time. He observes his surroundings attentively, seeks cautious approaches, and shows that a dog is in him who is ready to learn trust. He also gets along very well with his fellow animals – whether male or female dogs, he is friendly and social. Bazi is a medium-sized, athletic male dog with wonderfully black-brown fur. Standing at about 55–60 cm at the shoulder and around 3.5 years old, he is in the prime of his dog years. Although he remains unsure in the shelter, his development suggests that he will make great strides with patient and understanding people. His body language is still difficult to read, and stress as well as the confined shelter situation clearly affect him. Therefore, we are looking for dog-experienced people who can work sensitively, calmly, and clearly with him and take him gently by the paw. Bazi likely needs to first learn what life in a home is like – house training, everyday noises, walks, proximity, and attachment. But with time, patience, structure, and positive reinforcement, he will be able to flourish. A rural, quiet home would be ideal for him. People who are willing to let him come in small steps will witness how an insecure dog slowly blossoms. Attending a positively working dog training class can also give him additional security and strengthen the bond. Given his appearance, German Shepherd genes cannot be ruled out, which further explains his desire for clear leadership and structure. An experienced foster home would also be a crucial stepping stone for Bazi and could help him further reduce his insecurity. Bazi travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to his new home. Who gives this sensitive young male dog the chance to finally arrive and lead a life that is just for his gentle soul? Many thanks, dear Steffi Z. You gave Bazi his name and thus an unmistakable identity. As of 21.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Bazi

What life with Bazi looks like

Bazi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bazi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bazi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bazi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bazi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bazi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bazi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bazi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
