Alba

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Alba has found a home! Her story: Beautiful, more beautiful, Alba! Alba was left by her old owners and was already on her own at a young age. Two ladies wanted to take her in for spaying, but when she tested positive for Anaplasmosis, she was treated accordingly and not released back onto the street as originally planned but taken in by us. Now, Alba lives in a foster home in Romania, from which she is searching for a nice home. Alba is 1.5 years old and has a medium build with a height of about 50 cm and a weight of around 20 kg. In her foster home, she is already being trained on basic commands. In terms of her age, Alba is still in puberty. However, she shows herself in the foster home as a friendly, uncomplicated, and friendly female dog. She also gets along very well with other dogs and even with cats. From her appearance, it could be that a herding dog has been mixed in with Alba. Therefore, it is important for potential adopters to familiarize themselves with the characteristics of herding dogs and ideally live in a rural environment. An enclosed yard where she can run and play freely would be ideal for her. These breeds are confident and willful dogs that require loving but consistent training and a task. After an appropriate adjustment period, the pretty Alba would surely be happy to attend dog training classes that work with positive reinforcement. Alba travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, with her EU pet passport. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros, she can move in. Are you as captivated by the beautiful Alba as we are? Thank you, Britta, for naming Alba. Date: 10.07.

Vielen Dank Britta, du hast Alba ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 10.07.2025

About Alba

What life with Alba looks like

Alba is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
