Hungary. A Dobermann in a catastrophic condition was running through the pedestrian zone in the middle of the city. (see donation appeal) Emaciated, covered in wounds and calluses, and obviously having massive trouble standing, the poor dog was running through the city. The pictures and videos really shook us up (see donation appeal). More shocking was the ignorance of the people, as no one cared what was happening to the animal and everyone walked past him carelessly. We had Albert secured, and as soon as he was ready to travel, he could move to a foster home in Germany. Since the end of March, Albert has been in 56410 Montabaur at his foster home and is being lovingly cared for. His overall condition has greatly improved. The wounds have healed, and Albert has gained weight. He receives regular physiotherapy, which is very beneficial to him and which he enjoys. All veterinary and orthopedic examinations are now complete. Albert has an old bilateral hip fracture, which has deformed his hip, a femur is shortened, and of course, his movement is limited. However, since Albert has made significant progress in mobility and coordination, the vet recommends increasing the intensity of the movement training and advises against a prosthetic hip at the moment. Physiotherapy will continue to be necessary for Albert. We know that it will be very difficult for a dog with such a disability. Nonetheless, we would like to try to find a nice home for Albert, because he deserves it. Albert has a lot of life will and joy despite everything. Albert is very friendly with people and loves cuddles. He gets along well with his fellow animals. At his foster home, he lives with male dogs and also female dogs. He enjoys car rides, although help is needed when getting in, or he needs to be accustomed to a ramp. Albert likes to take short walks on soft forest ground. An one-story house with a fenced yard is a must, because then Albert can move freely as he likes and is not dependent on walks. Perhaps the dear fellow will have luck and find people who take him as he is. Those who meet all the requirements, are okay with having a dog with a disability, and can also afford the additional physiotherapy and veterinary costs. Ungarn. Ein Dobermann in einem katastrophalen Zustand lief mitten durch die Fußgängerzone. (s. Spendenaufruf) Abgemagert voller Wunden und Schwielen und offensichtlich massive Probleme sich auf den Beinen zu halten, so lief der arme Hund mitten durch die Stadt. Die Bilder und Videos haben uns wirklich erschüttert (s. Spendenaufruf). Mehr noch die Ignoranz der Menschen, denn keinen hat es interessiert was mit dem Tier los ist und jeder lief achtlos an ihm vorbei. Wir ließen Albert sichern und sobald er ausreisefertig war, konnte er auf eine Pflegestelle nach Deutschland ziehen. Seit Ende März befindet sich Albert nun in 56410 Montabaur auf seiner Pflegestelle und wird dort liebevoll betreut. Seine Gesamtzustand hat sich sehr verbessert. Die Wunden sind verheilt und Albert hat gut zugenommen. Er bekommt regelmäßig Physiotherapie die ihm sehr gut tut und die er sehr genießt. Alle tierärztlichen und orthopädischen Untersuchungen sind nun abgeschlossen. Albert hat einen alten beidseitigen Beckenbruch, dadurch ist das Becken deformiert, ein Oberschenkelknochen ist verkürzt und er ist natürlich in seiner Bewegung eingeschränkt. Da Albert aber deutliche Fortschritte in der Beweglichkeit und Koordination gemacht hat, empfiehlt der Tierarzt das Bewegungstraining und die Belastung schrittweise zu steigern und rät derzeit von einem künstlichen Hüftgelenk ab. Physiotherapie wird er weiter erhalten müssen. Wir wissen, dass es für einen Hund mit so einer Behinderung sehr schwer werden wird. Dennoch möchten wir versuchen für Albert ein schönes Zuhause zu finden, denn er hat es verdient. Albert hat trotz allem sehr viel Lebenswillen und Lebensfreude. Albert ist sehr freundlich mit Menschen und er liebt Streicheleinheiten. Er versteht sich gut mit seinen Artgenossen. Auf seiner Pflegestelle lebt er mit Rüden und auch Hündinnen zusammen. Er fährt gerne Auto, wobei man ihm beim Einsteigen helfen muss, oder ihn an eine Rampe gewöhnen muss. Albert macht gerne kurze Spaziergänge auf weichem Waldboden. Ein ebenerdiges Haus mit eingezäuntem Grundstück sind Bedingung, denn dann kann Albert sich frei bewegen, so wie es ihm gefällt und er ist nicht auf Spaziergänge angewiesen. Vielleicht hat der liebe Kerl ja Glück und findet Menschen, die ihn so nehmen wie er ist. Die alle Voraussetzungen erfüllen, denen es nichts ausmacht einen Hund mit Behinderung zu haben und die aber auch die finanziellen Mittel aufbringen können und weitere Physiotherapie und Tierarztkosten stemmen zu können.
