A gentle soul full of longing – who will patiently take ALBINA by the hand? 🍀 ALBINA – Tender Ice Princess with gentleness in her gaze: Enchanting young female dog seeks her loving home The beautiful ALBINA has been waiting in the municipal animal shelter since July 2026 for her big chance. At about 10 months old (born on 17.11.2025), the dear young dog is at the perfect age to leave behind the dull kennel and blossom by her humans' side. Visually, ALBINA is a real treat: Her radiant, snow-white short coat, the delicate pink nose, and her gentle, expressive eyes give her a noble appearance. With her long legs and a weight of about 17–20 kg, she has an elegant, slender, medium-sized stature (shoulder height about 50–55 cm). Characteristically, ALBINA is a sensitive heartbreaker. She enjoys petting very much and clings gratefully to gentle hands. The young dog currently reacts a bit shy and cautious in new situations. The leash also still causes her discomfort – here she needs empathetic people who gradually build up leash training with her with a lot of patience, calmness, and positive reinforcement. With her fellow dogs, ALBINA shows herself to be consistently friendly, social, and uncomplicated in the animal shelter. A confident first dog in the new home would be a great support for her to gain confidence even faster. ALBINA travels to her new home vaccinated, chipped, and with an EU pet passport after a positive preliminary check. Very friendly, enjoys petting, a bit shy ✓ A home with a garden ✓ Experienced dog people ✓ Gladly to another dog ✓ Wants to live in the countryside - No small children in the household - No urban environment ALBINA has been living with her brothers in the municipal animal shelter since July 2026. We do not know anything about her background. Help Albina find a home - share this with your friends ❤️

About Albina

What life with Albina looks like

Albina is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Albina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Albina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Albina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Albina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Albina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Albina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG early rather than rehoming privately; they know Albina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
