Alexa is friendly and independent, preferring not to be constantly cuddled. Found as a stray at feeding station. During dental work, congenital heart defect was discovered - ventricular septal defect requiring daily heart medication with reduced life expectancy. Compatible with some cats but doesn't need companion. Needs large apartment and outdoor access as she becomes stressed in confined spaces and may bite when anxious. Not suitable for small children or dogs. Currently doing well with treatment.

Alexa ist eine selbstbewusste Katze, die genau weiß, was sie möchte. Sie sucht katzenerfahrene Menschen, die ihre Körpersprache lesen und ihre Grenzen respektieren. Wenn Alexa Vertrauen hat, kommt sie gern auf den Schoß und lässt sich kraulen. Wird es ihr zu viel oder ist ihr jemand zu distanzlos, zeigt sie das deutlich. Wer ihre Signale ernst nimmt, kann gut mit ihr zusammenleben. Bei einer dringend nötigen Zahn-OP wurde ein angeborenes Herzproblem festgestellt, das sich im Tierheim leider verschlechtert hat. Alexa wirkt äußerlich stabil, wird nach aktuellem Stand aber keine hohe Lebenserwartung haben. Sie bekommt drei verschiedene Tabletten, die sie problemlos mit dem Futter aufnimmt. Da Alexa früher Freigängerin war, suchen wir für sie entweder gesicherten Freigang oder eine geräumige Wohnung mit gesichertem Balkon, damit die Tablettengabe zuverlässig möglich bleibt. Kinder und andere Katzen sollten nicht im Haushalt leben. Für unser Sorgenkind Alexa suchen wir dringend einen Hospitz Platz.
