Alexia is a 4-year-old female dog, approximately 50 cm tall, who is full of life despite her disability. She seems hardly bothered by having one less leg - she moves happily and carefree, enjoying every moment. Unfortunately, we don't know the cause of her missing left hind leg. It's likely an accident, as is the case with many street dogs in Romania. But Alexia hasn't let that get her down. She looks forward and eagerly waits for people who will give her a second chance. With her friendly nature and positive aura, she quickly enchants everyone who meets her. She shows that a disability doesn't have to be a barrier to a happy dog life. Dogs on three legs usually do great in a familiar environment. After a short adjustment period, they often master their daily routine just as naturally as other dogs. Much more important to Alexia than four healthy legs are people who love her and give her a safe home. Unfortunately, dogs with disabilities are often overlooked when it comes to adoption.

Alexia ist eine etwa 4 Jahre alte, rund 50 cm große Hündin, die trotz ihres Handicaps voller Lebensfreude steckt. Ein Bein weniger scheint sie kaum zu stören – sie bewegt sich fröhlich und unbeschwert und genießt jeden Moment. Die Ursache für ihr fehlendes linkes Hinterbein kennen wir leider nicht. Vermutlich war ein Unfall der Auslöser, wie es bei vielen Straßenhunden in Rumänien leider der Fall ist. Doch Alexia hat sich davon nicht unterkriegen lassen. Sie blickt nach vorne und wartet sehnsüchtig auf Menschen, die ihr eine zweite Chance schenken. Mit ihrer freundlichen Art und ihrer positiven Ausstrahlung verzaubert sie schnell jeden, der sie kennenlernt. Sie zeigt, dass ein Handicap kein Hindernis für ein glückliches Hundeleben sein muss. Hunde auf drei Beinen kommen in einer vertrauten Umgebung meist hervorragend zurecht. Nach einer kurzen Eingewöhnungszeit meistern sie ihren Alltag oft genauso selbstverständlich wie andere Hunde.
