Alfie and Ralfie finally got their chance at happiness two years ago. For the first time in their lives, they had a home, someone who understood them, gave them time, and made them feel safe. Unfortunately, their world has collapsed again because their adoptive parent can no longer care for them due to serious health problems. So these two sensitive souls are facing a difficult new start again. Alfie and Ralfie are not carefree, unguarded puppies. They never really were. Their past has left its mark and they still find new people and situations exciting. In the shelter, they show themselves uncertain, suspicious, and prefer to keep their distance. But those who are willing to look beyond their fear will discover incredibly loyal, gentle, and loving dogs. Their adoptive parent had built a beautiful bond with them with a lot of patience and love. They would cuddle with her, enjoy her attention, and feel safe. However, outside their familiar environment, they remained sensitive dogs who need support. That's why we're not looking for a perfect picture for Alfie and Ralfie, but people with patience, understanding, and a warm heart. People who realize that trust takes time and that small steps are sometimes the greatest victories. We prefer to place them separately, because we notice that they bloom better individually when they live together with a stable, self-confident other dog. A social and balanced canine companion gives them a lot of support and helps them stand up braver in life. That's why we don't place them as a single dog. Alfie and Ralfie are projects, and there will be work to be done. But those who are willing to invest in it will also get a lot in return the moment when an anxious dog finally decides that you are his safe haven.

Alfie en Ralfie kregen twee jaar geleden eindelijk hun kans op geluk. Voor het eerst in hun leven hadden ze een thuis, iemand die hen begreep, hen de tijd gaf en hen liet voelen dat ze veilig waren. Helaas is hun wereld opnieuw ingestort, want door ernstige gezondheidsproblemen kan hun adoptante niet langer voor hen zorgen. En dus staan deze twee gevoelige zieltjes opnieuw voor een moeilijke nieuwe start. Alfie en Ralfie zijn geen zorgeloze, onbevangen hondjes. Dat zijn ze eigenlijk nooit geweest. Hun verleden heeft sporen nagelaten en nieuwe mensen en situaties vinden ze nog steeds spannend. In het asiel tonen ze zich onzeker, wantrouwig en houden ze liever wat afstand. Maar wie bereid is voorbij die angst te kijken, ontdekt ongelooflijk loyale, zachte en liefdevolle hondjes. Hun adoptante had met veel geduld en liefde een prachtige band met hen opgebouwd. Bij haar kwamen ze knuffelen, genoten ze van aandacht en voelden ze zich veilig. Buiten hun vertrouwde omgeving bleven het echter gevoelige hondjes die steun nodig hebben. Daarom zoeken we voor Alfie en Ralfie geen perfect plaatje, maar mensen met geduld, begrip en een warm hart. Mensen die beseffen dat vertrouwen tijd kost en dat kleine stapjes soms de grootste overwinningen zijn. We plaatsen hen liefst apart, omdat we merken dat ze individueel beter openbloeien wanneer ze samenleven met een stabiele, zelfzekere andere hond. Een sociaal en evenwichtig hondenmaatje geeft hen enorm veel steun en helpt hen moediger in het leven te staan. Als enige hond plaatsen we hen daarom niet. Alfie en Ralfie zijn projectjes, en er zal nog werk aan zijn. Maar wie bereid is daarin te investeren, krijgt er ook enorm veel voor terug het moment waarop een angstig hondje eindelijk besluit dat jij zijn veilige haven bent.
