Alice

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Senior · 9 years

**REHOMING ASSISTANCE** Alice Breed: Staffordshire Mix Gender: Female, not neutered Age: 9 Special Note: Classified as dangerous by the authorities (due to incompatibility with other animals) Medical Condition: Mast cell tumor, low grade, completely removed, no changes since then Here comes Alice, and she's looking for her wonderland! This sweetie is searching for people with dog experience and understanding. She is absolutely incompatible with other animals and has been classified as dangerous by the authorities due to a biting incident with another dog, which is unfortunately justified. As a result, she is required to be on a leash and wear a muzzle, which she accepts without any problems. But what would Mr. Hyde be without a Dr. Jekyll… Her wonderful side shines through in her interactions with people, whether they are big or small, strangers or acquaintances. Alice has never shown aggressive behavior towards humans. She thoroughly enjoys cuddles and attention, like a true princess. True to her Staffy nature, she can be a bit "clumsy" in her enthusiasm and will therefore only be rehomed in a household with older/stable children. Currently, there is diligent work being done with Alice to redirect her aggressive behavior towards other animals. It's already going quite well with treats. She has a high "will to please" and simply wants to make her people happy, which sometimes leads to her ignoring other dogs. In any case, it's important to continue working with Alice in the future to make daily life with her more relaxed. It's also worth noting that Alice had a mast cell tumor (Grade II, low grade) on her right flank. This was generously and completely removed in July 2024. Since then, no new enlargements have occurred. What must the new home provide? – No other animals, small pets, or dogs – Children aged 10 and older – Regular health check-ups regarding her medical history – Compliance with local regulations, depending on the state – Further training is absolutely necessary Hundewelt Duwensee Tedrahnshöhe 2 23715 Bosau or our interest form:

Was muss das neue Zuhause mitbringen? – keine anderen Tiere, Kleintiere, Hunde – Kinder ab 10 Jahren – regelmäßige Gesundheitschecks bzgl.

About Alice

What life with Alice looks like

Alice is a large senior staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Listenhunde Nothilfe in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alice, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alice?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Listenhunde Nothilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alice on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alice if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Listenhunde Nothilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alice already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alice isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Listenhunde Nothilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alice and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
