ALPIK

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Meet Aplik – a roughly 6-month-old young male who is just learning what it really means to be someone's dog. As a tiny puppy, he was adopted by us... unfortunately he came back, because it turned out that a puppy is not a stuffed toy that can be "put on the shelf" when it's no longer convenient. Aplik has energy, joy and curiosity about the world - exactly what a healthy young dog should have. Unfortunately, he wasn't taught to be alone at home or to function calmly, but... he is really quickly making up for his shortcomings! He is very smart and clever. He is already making great progress - he works every day on walks (he has two a day) and you can see how much he wants to cooperate with people. He learns lightning fast! He has already mastered the first commands - his "sit" is almost showy. Especially when he sees a treat, but he can also do it without a reward. This is a dog that thinks, observes and really wants to understand humans. Aplik is a volcano of positive energy. He loves movement, running, play and exploring the world. At the same time, he can calm down and focus on his caregiver - which is a huge advantage for such a young dog. He is an ideal candidate for someone who wants to work with a dog, build a relationship and develop together. In terms of appearance, Aplik is simply cute. He has a light, short coat in shades of beige and cream, a slim figure and a delicate muzzle. You can already see that he will grow into a larger dog - his target weight may reach up to around 25 kg. His bright eyes are always focused on the person - as if asking "what are we doing next?" On the photo you can see how beautifully he sits and focuses on his caregiver - it's not only looks, but his character. We are looking for a responsible home for Aplik - one that understands that a young dog is work, patience and involvement, but also a huge amount of love and joy. He really deserves a second chance... and someone who won't let him down again. If you feel that Aplik could be your friend - get in touch. Maybe this is exactly who is waiting for you.

Niestety nie nauczono go zostawania samemu w domu ani podstaw spokojnego funkcjonowania, ale… on naprawdę szybko nadrabia zaległości! Aplik to wulkan pozytywnej energii. Uwielbia ruch, bieganie, zabawę i eksplorowanie świata.

About ALPIK

What life with ALPIK looks like

ALPIK is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting ALPIK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ALPIK?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ALPIK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ALPIK if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ALPIK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ALPIK isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know ALPIK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
