adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Aluna was found unprotected on the street. Actually, the helpers were looking for the mother. And so Aluna ended up joining them. The sweet puppy girl, whose name means Moonlight, is expected to reach a medium to large size. Aluna is very friendly, playful, and curious. A happy puppy who wants to explore the world. She also gets along well with other dogs. Her thick teddy bear fur and white socks make her a particularly cute and cuddly fur-nose. It is likely that Aluna carries herding gene to some extent. Therefore, we wish to find people for Aluna who either already have experience or are willing to engage with the character traits of these dogs. Herding dogs are known for their loyalty, attentiveness, and close bond with their people. They often bring a calm, sovereign nature, but are also vigilant and independent thinkers. Herding dogs are not command recipients but partners—sensitive, intelligent, and with a strong need for attachment and trust. Aluna is still at the very beginning of her young life and thus has a lot to learn. If you decide to take on a puppy, you should be aware that this also comes with responsibility, but of course, also with incredible joy and love. We therefore hope very much that Aluna finds her people and does not have to grow up in the shelter. For the little Aluna, a visit to a positively working dog training class would also be a wonderful opportunity to grow as a team and be supported in her education and development. If you would like to see Aluna happily trotting around your home on her little puppy paws soon, then feel free to contact us. Also, the possibility of a foster home would be a wonderful opportunity for Aluna. Aluna travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She was named by Bea! We thank you very much for that! Aluna now has the chance to have her own family. Date: 21.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 21.04.2026

About Aluna

What life with Aluna looks like

Aluna is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aluna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aluna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aluna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aluna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aluna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aluna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aluna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
