adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace and quiet, little Amari… Her story: Amari is an approximately 3-month-old female dog currently under foster care with a foster home, along with her three brothers. Her delicate frame and gentle gaze melt hearts! Her eyes are still cautious, but she is on the lookout for a wonderful home where she can gradually unfold. In the right environment, she will surely soon thaw out. She gets along well with her siblings. The brown and black tones blend in her cute, short-haired fur, and with an erect ear, she looks simply enchanting. Visually, she almost resembles a miniature German Shepherd mix – who knows what genes she might still have. One thing is certain: she has the right size to be everywhere, as she will stay small. For Amari, we wish for a home with heart, patience, and understanding – ideally in a rural or quiet location, with people who will give her time, build trust, and adapt to her pace. An independent only dog could provide her with additional orientation, but it is not necessary. She should be allowed to learn the small dog lessons step by step. Positive dog training classes can help make her and her new companions a great team. She travels fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. Due to her young age, she is not yet neutered. For travel arrangements, she will have an EU pet passport. An appropriate foster home would be a great blessing for her. Many thanks to Lena! You gave Amari this sweet name and thus a sense of identity. As of: 17.10.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, kleine Amari… Vielen Dank an Lena! Stand: 17.10.2025

About Amari

What life with Amari looks like

Amari is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amari, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amari?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amari on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amari if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amari already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amari isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amari and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
