Adopt Amaro

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

Amaro is a medium-sized, small, young dog with shiny, black fur and huge amounts of love 🙂 He ended up in the animal shelter directly from the street - his past remains a mystery to us. One thing is for sure: despite an unknown start in life, Amaro hasn't lost faith in people. From the first days in the animal shelter, he has gifted his caretakers with trust and quickly showed how much he needs closeness. This is a dog who demands attention, is happy to see a person and eagerly takes every opportunity to spend time together. He is brave and open - he easily goes on walks even with people he hasn't met before. He walks nicely on a leash, curiously explores the world. Amaro is very social with other dogs. He gladly initiates relationships and invites them to play - sometimes he can be quite forward. Therefore, we are looking for a home with another balanced dog that can set boundaries and teach Amaro canine manners and delicacy in interactions. In the right company, Amaro will surely quickly improve his social skills. He is still a young pup, with much more to learn. The future caregiver should be ready to consciously introduce him to household life - teach the rules, patiently show how to function beside a human being and support him in further development. Amaro really likes being petted, which should be an asset in building a relationship. There's tremendous potential in Amaro. With the right support, he has a chance to become a wonderful, faithful, and devoted companion who will remind his caretaker every day of how valuable dog love is. Could it be you who shows him that home is more than just a place - it's safety, closeness, and shared life through good and bad times? 🙂 Adopting a dog from the animal shelter, keep in mind that the description you just read refers to the dog's behavior in shelter conditions. The dog's behavior may change in a new home. Amaro was born around 06/2024. He is neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.

To wciąż młodziak, przed którym jeszcze wiele nauki. Przyszły opiekun powinien być gotowy świadomie wprowadzić go w domowe życie- nauczyć zasad, cierpliwie pokazać, jak funkcjonować u boku człowieka i wspierać go w dalszym rozwoju. About Amaro

What life with Amaro looks like

Amaro is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amaro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amaro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amaro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amaro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amaro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amaro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amaro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
