adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Amber has found a home! Your story: Bistrita, Romania. Lucky Cat Amber is looking for new food openers. Amber is a ca. 3-year-old, very friendly Lucky Cat. Amber is very social in dealing with fellow animals, people-oriented, and cuddly. She would rather be with her people all day long. To keep her company in her new home, she needs a fellow animal. If there isn't one, she would be happy to bring someone with her. Currently, she lives on a foster home with an elderly man. He can no longer take care of her due to health reasons. Since Amber came to the foster home as a kitten, she doesn't know the dangers of the street and would rather stay inside her new home. She would definitely appreciate a screened-in balcony, but it is not a requirement for a match. Would you be the new anchor in Amber's life? Then please contact us. Amber travels neutered, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms. She has an EU pet passport and is tested negative for FIV and FELV. Many thanks Britta! You named Amber!

Vielen Dank Britta! Du hast Amber ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Amber

What life with Amber looks like

Amber is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amber, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amber?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amber on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amber if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amber already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amber isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amber and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
