Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Amela is a young female dog with a lot of personality. Curious, clever and a little bit mischievous, she is currently discovering the world and regularly causes laughter. Doors, for example, are soon no longer an insurmountable obstacle for her - she has quickly found out that you just have to jump on the handle. One could say: problem solving is in her blood. Amela is an intelligent observer and probably has a mix of a Labrador and a herding dog - her alert gaze and quick mind speak for themselves, that she is not really very greedy, against the Labrador 😉. She loves to be occupied, whether through exercise, small thinking tasks or joint training. At the same time, she still has to learn to relax - it's still difficult for her right now, and when everything gets too exciting, she sometimes gets a bit excited. However, with loving guidance and clear structures, she will make quick progress here. In everyday life, Amela shows herself as a real "puppy child": housebreaking is still on her to-do list, and she is sometimes unsure outside. Loud noises, many people or hectic situations can still overwhelm her. However, in a quiet environment and with empathetic accompaniment, she gains increasing confidence and shows how much courage is actually in her. Amela is looking for a home with people who enjoy working with a young, smart dog, giving it security and growing together. She brings everything you could wish for: joie de vivre, intelligence, charm - and a good dose of mischief. Whoever takes on this small adventure gets a loyal companion who, with the right guidance, will certainly grow into a great female dog. Amela is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas and comes with her EU pet passport. Due to her age, she is not yet spayed. She can move into her new home after a positive pre-check and against a fee. A big thank you also goes to you, dear Melli. Thanks to you, Amela not only got a suitable name, but also the prospect of a happy dog life. Date: 15.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.05.2026

About Amela

What life with Amela looks like

Amela is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
