I am AMÉRICA, a delicate tomcat with beautifully tiger-striped fur. Since I was a baby, I have been waiting to find my own home. Many people found me wonderful – until a test result changed everything: I am FIV-positive. Since then, I am often overlooked. But I am just a normal tomcat who can lead a beautiful and fulfilling life with the right care, good food, and lots of love! I had the good fortune to grow up in a foster home and experienced a lot of love there. Now, the transition to life in the animal shelter is hard for me. The adjustment is big, and I need time to find my footing. I am still shy with people, but with other cats, I am very affectionate, social, and friendly – their proximity gives me security. I wish for people who will give me a chance to open up at my own pace and show me that I am welcome. Maybe you are exactly that person?

Ich bin América, ein zierlicher Kater mit wunderschönem rot getigertem Fell. Seit ich ein Baby bin, warte ich darauf, endlich mein eigenes Zuhause zu finden. Viele Menschen fanden mich toll – bis ein Testergebnis alles verändert hat: Ich bin FIV-positiv.Seitdem werde ich oft übersehen. Dabei bin ich ein ganz normaler Kater, der mit der richtigen Pflege, gutem Futter und ganz viel Liebe ein schönes und erfülltes Leben führen kann!Ich hatte das Glück, in einer Pflegestelle aufzuwachsen und dort viel Liebe zu erfahren. Umso schwerer fällt mir jetzt das Leben im Tierheim. Die Umstellung ist groß, und ich brauche Zeit, um mich zurechtzufinden. Menschen gegenüber bin ich noch schüchtern. Aber mit anderen Katzen bin ich sehr lieb, sozial und umgänglich – ihre Nähe gibt mir Sicherheit.Ich wünsche mir Menschen, die mir eine Chance geben, mich in meinem Tempo zu öffnen und mir zeigen, dass ich willkommen bin.
