Amias - EKH

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten

Born: approx. 05/2026, in the animal shelter since: 10 July 2026, male. Amias, Alaric, Amir, Aras, and Aurelio were found together with their mother, Ada. At first, the whole family was very shy, and it took time to catch them. After being neutered, Ada was allowed to return to freedom. Her five sons are now at the animal shelter and are looking for a new home. The five brothers have probably had little contact with humans so far. They are very shy and immediately hide whenever they hear something or someone enters the room. However, they get along well with the other cats at the shelter. We are looking for a home for these five where the owners have plenty of time and patience. It will take a long time before they gain trust. Later on, supervised outdoor access should be possible. A friendly and compatible cat living in the household could help them learn and adjust. Children should be older, as the boys tend to use their claws when feeling threatened. About Amias - EKH

What life with Amias - EKH looks like

Amias - EKH is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amias - EKH, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amias - EKH?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amias - EKH on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amias - EKH if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amias - EKH already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amias - EKH isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amias - EKH and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
