Amigo

Male · Senior · 20 years

Amigo—a kitten found on Ściegiennego Street. This little cat easily wins the hearts of everyone who meets him. This adorable ginger tabby is full of childlike joy, curiosity about the world, and positive energy. Every day is a new adventure for him, so he eagerly explores every nook and cranny, plays with anything that catches his attention, and after an exciting play session, he comes back even more eager for some cuddles and petting. Amigo is a cat who absolutely loves human company and happily spends time in their presence. He watches his caregivers with interest and joyfully accepts their affection. Amigo is very friendly and open. He quickly forms bonds, and his cheerful disposition makes it hard not to smile when he’s around. He can amuse you with his playful antics, yet he also charms with quieter moments—when he snuggles up close and purrs softly, showing just how much he treasures your closeness. He’s the perfect combination of a mischievous little rascal and a tender, loving friend. The kitten uses the litter box without any problems. When adopting a kitten, you should keep in mind that contrary to popular belief, raising such a young animal is not easy at all. We don’t recommend adopting kittens into homes with small children. Kittens are still learning how hard they can use their claws and teeth, which often leads to scratches and minor injuries—this is the most common reason for return adoptions. With such young animals, you need to be prepared to teach them everything from scratch. Kittens are exceptionally energetic; they may chew on furniture, curtains, and other household items. Remember that a cat can live for up to 20 years—if you’re taking in a kitten, you must be ready to take responsibility for him or her for a very long time. Kittens usually instinctively use the litter box, but keep in mind that there may be instances when you’ll need to work on teaching them proper litter box habits. Also, remember that because kittens haven’t received all their vaccinations yet, they’re in the highest risk group—they can get sick, and the illness may initially show no symptoms. Amigo - kociątko znalezione na ul. Ściegiennego. To kociak, który z łatwością podbija serca wszystkich, którzy go poznają. To idealne połączenie kociego łobuziaka i czułego przyjaciela. Kotek bez problemu korzysta z kuwetki. About Amigo

What life with Amigo looks like

Amigo is a senior cat waiting at Schronisko Kielce in Kielce.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amigo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amigo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Kielce handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amigo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amigo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Kielce will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amigo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amigo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Kielce early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amigo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
