Anabel

Female · Adult · 4 years

Ana has grown up beautifully, as you can see from the photos. 💚 Ann Ana has a specific approach to life. She must gain trust in people; she is not a trusting cat. But once she loves, she does so with her whole little body. 😊 This is a female cat who was found as a kitten that did not have a properly developed anus and had to take care of all her needs "through one hole," so to speak. The kitten was operated on and had anal plastic surgery, which allowed her body to function according to biology. Unfortunately, the anus began to close, and the cat started having problems with defecation. Therefore, she underwent another operation that corrected what was not working. Ana does not have an anus, which means she is able to defecate on her own, but she leaves her poop wherever she is. Like a deer's droppings. To make things even better – these droppings are a source of joy for her caregiver – because it means that her intestines are working and Ana defecates on her own. Sometimes she needs help and a tummy rub. So when everything happens on its own, even poop in the middle of the room can make a person happy. 😊 Anabel is a mini version of a cat – probably due to a genetic defect that hindered her proper growth.

PL·Show original

Bo czasem trzeba jej pomóc i pomasować brzuszek.

About Anabel

What life with Anabel looks like

Anabel is a small adult cat waiting at Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań in Poznań.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anabel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anabel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anabel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anabel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anabel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anabel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Dla Zwierząt Animalia Poznań early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anabel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
