Adopt Anelma

Female · Senior · 11 years

Native Country: Hungary The beautiful Anelma was solemnly reported to the animal shelter on December 12, 2024, in the community of Lajosmizse and was immediately picked up. She was neither microchipped nor reported missing. On December 29, 2024, she gave birth to five puppies, of which unfortunately three died. She is a loving mother to her two puppies, Valentina and Valentino. Even though the animal shelter is not ideal, they are safe there and have the chance to be discovered by wonderful people. We hope that all of them will soon find their own homes – even individually adoptable. Anelma is a friendly, loving, and trusting female dog who gratefully accepts any affection and seeks the company of the shelter staff. She longs for a foster home with loving people, a soft sleeping place, and much care. Although she doesn’t know everything yet, she wants to learn and be loved. She runs well on a leash. Despite her age, she is active and curious about the world. Anelma gets along well with your fellow animals and currently lives in a kennel with Hermiusz. On August 6, 2025, a volunteer, Hungarian helper wrote: "Anelma was allowed to go for a walk together with her mentor on the mentoring day. She showed herself to be an exceptionally loving, friendly, and people-oriented female dog. She has a calm nature and walks nicely on a leash. During the walk, she constantly sought the proximity of her mentor, she loves cuddles and small attentions. Anelma is kind, clingy, and grateful for every affection. She currently lives with another dog in a run. With an already existing dog, she will surely get along well." Medical Update from September 6, 2025: Anelma is positive for roundworms and her treatment has begun (6 months Advocate). She also has a gum swelling, which is being removed and sent to the lab, an update will follow, and since she is already under anesthesia, she will be spayed at the same time. May 6, 2026: Her tumor in the gum was benign. The control test was also negative, and Anelma is now worm-free. On October 13, 2025, a volunteer, Hungarian helper wrote: "Anelma came to the animal shelter in December 2024. On the mentor day, at the shelter’s playground, we got to know her, and her mentors have already taken her for a walk. Anelma is a very loving, trusting, and affectionate female dog. She is people-oriented and grateful when someone pays attention to her and shows her affection. On the playground, she spent most of her time near the people and actively sought cuddles and affection. She also clearly enjoyed the fur care. She is calm, balanced, attentive, and smart. Most importantly, she wants a permanent, loving home where she can live in security and peace. She would be happy to go for a walk with her person every day and then rest in the circle of her family, surrounded by love and warmth. Anelma currently lives with several other dogs in a run. Together with them, she patiently waited for cuddles. She leads well on a leash, pays attention to her mentor’s signals during walks, and enjoys every form of affection." Anelma is ready for travel.

About Anelma

What life with Anelma looks like

Anelma is a senior dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anelma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anelma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anelma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anelma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anelma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anelma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anelma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
