Adopt Angel

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 10 years

We would like to introduce you to our Angel, a beautiful family tree Maine Coon born in July 2016. A year ago, Angel moved in with us. Her owner died and left 5 cats. 4 of these could be admitted to the local asylum, but Angele got the stamp unplaceable and came to live with us. We met Angel as an incredibly sweet and affectionate lady. She can lie down in soft baskets or in the high scratching post, but she also likes to come to you for some attention or to lie on her lap. Angel isn't a pussy to carry around, she knows what she wants and when she wants to, like a lady of standing. Then why did she have to come to us? Angel had diarrhea all her life. So very much so, that at times it was literally out of her. Her owner thought this was no problem, but finding a new cottage for such a cat is of course very difficult. With us, Angel was completely pulled through a medical mill. We have tried all kinds of (diet) food and a whole range of medication has been reviewed. Meanwhile we have her stable in a combination of hypoallergenic food and oral medication. Diarrhoea she will always keep, but it is no longer water thin and everything always ends up neatly in the bin. However, her strict diet is very difficult to maintain in a shelter with 225 cats. Angel also loves other snacks and knows how to find every piece, crumb of wet food, or leftover snack. We immediately see her bowel reacting negatively to this. We give this beautiful and special lady a life in which she no longer has to have a stomachache. What are we looking for Angel? A quiet household, without young children, without other pets or at most one quiet hangover which also gets Hypoallergenic chunk. Besides, someone who is very neat of himself and therefore doesn't leave anything lying around that Angel could possibly eat. Someone who would not be afraid if an accident would happen next to the prison and someone who could keep Angel as an indoor cat, where a catproof garden or balcony is a welcome enrichment. In addition, it is desirable if Angel comes to live near Drachtster Company. As a foundation, we continue to guarantee her medical care and medication.

About Angel

What life with Angel looks like

Angel is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Kat in Nood in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Angel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Angel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kat in Nood handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Angel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Angel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kat in Nood will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Angel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Angel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kat in Nood early rather than rehoming privately; they know Angel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
